RHODE ISLAND VS. THE OWL CLASSIC FIELD - SERIES NOTES

• Rhode Island is visiting Boca Raton for the first time in 20 years, dating back to the 2004 Florida Atlantic Tournament.
• The year, the Rams played the host Owls four times, going 1-3 overall.
• Rhode Island is 2-8 all time against FAU.
• URI has played Boston College 30 times, going 10-20 against the Eagles.
• Rhody won the most recent meeting with BC, a 7-6 victory during the 2021 season.
• The only time Rhode Island and Florida Gulf Coast have ever met was during the 2015 USF Under Armour Invitational. FGSU won a tightly-contested 3-1 game.
• Rhode Island and Columbia have met twice before. URI won the first meeting 4-3 in 2008, while Columbia scored a 7-3 victory a year later.

SWENSON GETTING INTO THE SWING OF THINGS

• Team captain and starting shortstop Cassie Swenson is off to a torrid start at the plate, batting .500 (8-for-16) with a pair of doubles through the first six games.
• Swenson enters the weekend riding a four-game hitting streak, during which she is batting .636 (7-for-11).
• Her next game will be the 150th of Swenson's career with Rhode Island, which leads the team.
• A starter for her entire career, Swenson ranks sixth all time in program history with 260 assists.
• She needs 45 more to break the URI record of 304, which is held by Courtney Prendergast (2009-13).
• Off the field, Swenson is a graduate student who completed her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology.
• She is an intern with the URI Athletic Training room, completing more than 600 hours working with the Rhode Island football and men's basketball teams.
