RHODE ISLAND VS. FORDHAM - SERIES NOTES
- Saturday's game will be the 74th all time between Rhode Island and Fordham and the second this season.
- Rhode Island leads the series, 41-32.
- The teams have split 38 previous meetings in Rose Hill, 19-19.
- Fordham has won three of the last four meetings, including a 71-68 victory on Jan. 24 of this season.
- Kyle Rose had a game-high 24 points to lead Fordham to the win in the first meetings of the season. Rose was 8-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range.
- While Fordham is just 6-10 at home, it has won its last two in Rose Hill, beating Duquesne 79-67 on Feb. 23 and George Mason 61-60 on Feb. 27.
- Rhode Island lost to George Mason 69-51 in its most recent game, the team's seventh straight loss overall.
- Fordham enters the regular-season finale for both teams on a two-game skid. It lost at Massachusetts 66-64 on Wednesday.
SEEDING STILL IN FLUX FOR ATLANTIC 10 CHAMPIONSHIP
- While both Rhode Island and Fordham are locked into playing in Tuesday's opening round of the Atlantic 10 Championship, Saturday's game will affect the seeding for both teams.
- Rhode Island can still fall anywhere from the 11th seed to the 14th seed.
- Fordham, on the other hand, can still finish anywhere from the 10th seed to the 13th seed.
- A Fordham victory coupled with a La Salle loss at Loyola Chicago on Saturday would make Fordham the No. 10 seed.
- There are three scenarios in which Rhode Island can get up to the No. 11 seed: 1. If URI beats Fordham, La Salle loses to Loyola Chicago and Davidson wins at Saint Joseph's; 2. If URI beats Fordham, and La Salle and Davidson both win Saturday; 3. URI beats Fordham and La Salle and Davidson both lose on Saturday.
- La Salle (6-11), Fordham (6-11), Rhode Island (5-12) and Davidson (5-12) are all separated by one game in the Atlantic 10 standings.
- If those teams finish in a four-way tie, the first tiebreaker is record in head-to-head competition among the tied teams.
- In this scenario, Davidson would be the 10th seed (3-1 vs. Fordham, La Salle and URI); Rhode Island would be the 11th seed (3-2 vs. Fordham, La Salle and Davidson); La Salle would be the 12th seed (2-2 vs. URI, Fordham and Davidson); and Fordham would be the 13th seed (1-4 vs. URI, La Salle, and Davidson).
