KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's track & field team competed in split meets this weekend, sending team members to both the Friar Invitational and Northeast Challenge.
The Friar Invitational was hosted by Providence College, while UConn held the Northeast Challenge.
Highlights - Friar Invitational
- Sofia Piccone ran a personal best in the 5000m, finishing sixth overall at 17:26.22.
- Hanna O'Connor turned in a personal best in the mile, placing eighth with a time of 4:55.01.
Highlights - Northeast Challenge
- Elise LePage ran a 2:20.00 in the 800m to finish fourth overall, collecting five points. Lindsay Turgeon was .20 seconds off of a scoring finish at ninth (2:21.49).
- Caroline Larkin cleared 11' 10.75" in the pole vault to finish fifth and score four points, setting a new personal record.
- Hanna O'Connor picked up four points with a fifth-place finish in the 1500m, coming across in 4:40.34.
- Erynn Field had a 170 3" throw in the hammer to finish eighth.
