KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Women's Track & Field finished eighth out of 13 teams at the UMass Flagship Opener on Sunday afternoon.

The Rams scored 27 points in the team standings. Massachusetts (112 points) took first, followed by Brown (93 points) and Holy Cross (68 points). 

Virsavia Goretoy led URI with a top finish in the 100m Hurdles. She crossed the line in 14 seconds flat to lead the field. Teammates Kayla Clark (ninth, 14.66) and Jacqueline Edoro (10th, 15.08) also joined her in the top 10. 

Highlights

• Jacqueline Edoro placed second in the triple jump (38' 0.75") to score eight points.
• The quartet of Goretoy, Sydney Federico, Amyah Santana and Hileni Mor finished fourth in the 4 x 100m Relay (49.00).
• Katie Welsh cleared 11' 1.75" in the pole vault for fourth overall. Olivia Priest (10' 8") and Sarah Parr (10' 2") finished eighth and 10th, respectively.
• Alyssa Yankee recorded a 126' 8" throw in the discus to score a point (sixth).
• Erynn Field was sixth in the hammer (166' 8").
• Goretoy recorded a 17' 9.5" effort in the long jump to finish ninth.
• Alexis Zarr placed 10th in the high jump (4' 10.5").
