KINGSTON, R.I. - Competing at home in Mackal Fieldhouse for the first time during the 2024-25 indoor season, the Rhode Island women's track & field team had a strong showing on Saturday afternoon with many student-athletes competing in different or new events.
Though Rhody was unable to secure any event wins, the team had numerous top finishes over the course of the non-scoring invitational.Â
Highlights
- Megan Wood placed second in the shotput with a 44' 11" toss.
- The quartet of Kelsey Wolff, Madeline Till, Erin Hurley and Lindsay Turgeon came second in the 4x800 relay (9:27.45).Â
- Macy Daigle cleared 5' 7" in the high jump for second overall. Teammates Josie Allred and Lily MacDonald tied for eighth (5' 1").
- Sydney Haik, Abigail Colella, Nyah Santana and Carollin Mellin teamed up for a 3:56.94 run in the 4x400 relay, good for second overall.Â
- Kiley Mironenko was third in the triple jump with a 34' 7 3/4" mark.Â
- The Rams had a slew of top-10 finishes in the 800m, where they were led by Erin Hurley (third, 2:17.49). Madeline Till (fourth, 2:18.01), Kelsey Wolff (seventh, 2:21.23) and Olivia Skapczynski (10th, 2:22.09) were just behind her.
- Abigail Colella crossed the line fourth in the 400m with a time of 1:00.75. Sydney Haik came in seventh at 1:02.17.
- Megan Wood had another top finish in the weight throw, coming in fourth at 54' 9". Madison Boucher was ninth with a 49' 1" mark.
- Lily MacDonald ran a 9.05 in the 60m hurdles, good for fifth place. Kayla Clark finished in 9.10 for eighth overall.
- Alyvia Caruso lept 17' 1.4" in the long jump for sixth place. Kiley Mironenko came in ninth (16' 9 1/4").
- Lilly Pittakas ran the 500m in 1:20.17, good for sixth overall. Carolin Mellin was ninth (1:20.73), Lindsay Turgeon was 10th (1:21.00) and Elise LePage was 11th (1:21.28).
- Sydney Federico ran the 60m, coming sixth in the finals (7.99).
- Katie Welsh cleared 11' 5 3/4" in the pole vault to finish seventh. Olivia Priest (11') was ninth.Â

Rhode Island will compete at the Riverhawk Invitational, hosted by UMass Lowell, on Saturday, Jan. 25. The meet is set for a 9 a.m. start.Â
