Rams Slip in Both National Polls

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island dropped in both the national FCS polls after Friday night's loss to Brown at Centreville Bank Stadium. The Rams dropped to No.17 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and fell eight spots in the AFCA Coaches Poll to No. 18.

In the Stats Perform poll, the Rams tallied 465 points, just eight points behind No. 16 Austin Peay (UAC). CAA foe Vilanova collected 389 points, good for No. 18 in the poll. Monmouth is the highest CAA program in the Stats Perform poll, sitting at No. 12 earning 768 points.

Rhode Island received 203 points in the AFCA Coaches poll, landing at No. 18. The Rams are one spot ahead of Mercer (SoCon) who received 164 points. There are three CAA teams currently in the AFCA Coaches poll; Monmouth at No. 11, Villanova at No. 17, and Rhody at No. 18.

Rhody does not meet either Villanova or Monmouth this season. Elon is receiving votes in the AFCA poll but is not ranked. The Rams face the Phoenix on Nov. 8 in North Carolina.

Rhode Island returns home on Saturday, Oct. 11 for a match up against New Hampshire. It's the Rams first home game since their Sept. 20 win over Long Island. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
