Rams Remain In Top 10 of Both National Polls

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island remained in the top 10 of both national FCS polls despite suffering its first loss of the season Saturday. The Rams dipped two spots in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 to No. 8. They also dropped three spots in the AFCA Coaches Poll to No. 10.

In the Stats Perform poll, Rhody is one of three teams separated by just eight points. No. 6 Illinois State (3-1) received 982 points and is playing No. 1 North Dakota State this weekend. No. 7 UC Davis (3-1) got 979 points and plays at Cal Poly. Rhode Island (4-1) got 974 points and will face in-state rival Brown on Friday night.

In the AFCA Coaches poll, the Rams received 406 points. That was 20 points behind No. 9 Tennessee Tech and 24 behind No. 8 Lehigh.

The top seven teams were the same in both polls. North Dakota State topped both polls, followed by South Dakota State and Tarleton State. Montana and Montana State round out the top five, followed by Illinois State and UC Davis.
