KINGSTON, R.I. - A contingent of throwers represented the Rhode Island women's track & field team at Saturday afternoon's Harvard Invitational.
The Rams had student-athletes compete in both the weight throw and the shotput, across Open and Championship categories.
Megan Wood had the top finish of the day, coming third in the Championship Shotput with a 45' 1" toss. She recorded the mark on her sixth and final attempt.
Highlights
- Megan Wood came in seventh in the Championship Weight Throw (51' 5 1/2").
- Alyssa Yankee placed ninth in the Championship Shotput with a 39' 5 1/4" toss.
- Madison Boucher was ninth in the Open Shotput with a mark of 33' 6 3/4".
- Yankee and Boucher finished 10th and 11th in the Open Weight Throw, with throws of 46' 3 1/2" and 45' 3 3/4".

Rhode Island will host the URI Coaches Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 8. The meet at Mackal Fieldhouse is set for an 11 a.m. start. It will be senior day for the Rams.
