Rams Use Brown Invitational as Final Tune Up Before A-10's

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island men's track and field had its final tune up before heading to the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship next week. The Rams had a handful of competitors up in Providence Saturday for the Brown Invitational, collecting 71 team points for a fourth-place finish.

Highlights from Competition

  • Nate Shultz placed second in the long jump with a leap of 6.85 meters (22' 5.75"). 
  • Alexander Baez was second in the weight throw (18.95m/62' 2.25") and Nate Field was fourth (16.35m/53' 7.75").
  • CJ McDermott placed third in the shot put with a 14.68-meter throw (48' 2").
  • Damian Scouloukas was fourth in the high jump after clearing 1.82 meters (5' 11.50").
  • Scouloukas also competed in the pole vault, finishing second with a 4.60-meter mark (15' 1").

The Rams look to defend their title at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship next Friday and Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.
