Rams Open Atlantic 10 Play at George Mason

KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island and George Mason begin Atlantic 10 play with a three-game series in Fairfax this weekend. The teams are scheduled for a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game Sunday.

Due to the schedule change, only Saturday's single game will be streamed on ESPN+.

RHODE ISLAND VS. GEORGE MASON - SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island and George Mason have met 30 times, with the Patriots holding a 20-10 edge in the series.
  • George Mason has won each of the last three series, going 7-2 against URI in the last three seasons.

  • Junior Kyle Bulinski has been swinging a hot bat for Rhode Island, entering the weekend riding a six-game hitting streak.
  • The Beacon Falls, Conn. product leads the Rams with a .359 batting average.
  • She leads the team in hits (14), home runs (3), doubles (3), walks (10) and total bases 26). 
  • Over the course of her six-game hitting streak, Bulinski is batting .467 (7-for-15) with two doubles, two home runs and five walks.
  • She has hit safely in nine of her last 10 games overall, collecting 12 hits in that span.

HERNANDEZ PERFECT ON THE BASES 

  • Junior Hannah Hernandez had two more stolen bases last weekend at the UMBC Round Robin and is now a perfect 5-for-5 in steal attempts on the season. 
  • The Rhody centerfielder is up to 31 stolen bases for her career, which is tied for sixth place in program history with former teammate Elena Gonzalez (2023-24).
  • Hernandez is on a four-game hitting streak entering the weekend.
  • During the streak she is 6-for-16 (.375) with five runs scored.
  • Hernandez is second on the team in runs scored (8) and runs batted in (7).
  • The seven RBI this season already match her combined total from 2023 and 2024.
  • A member of the 2023 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, Hernandez has been a fixture in the lineup since she arrived in Kingston, starting 92 of her 103 career games played.
  • She has a career .975 fielding percentage in the outfield, recording 114 putouts and five assists with just five errors.
