BOSTON, MASS. — Rhode Island men's track and field sits at the top of the standings after day one of the New England Championship, collecting 50.50 team points behind three first-day champions.

Champions

• Mason Brubaker is a New England indoor champion in the pole vault after clearing 5.18m (17' 0").
• Alexander Baez won gold in the weight throw to defend his 2024 indoor crown, marking 19.33m (63' 5").
• Matt Santy finished first in the high jump to also defend his 2024 indoor title. His mark was 2.10m (6' 10.75").

Podium Finishes

• Damian Scouloukas finished third for bronze in the pole vault, clearing 4.73m (15' 6.25").
• Cam Miller finished second after marking 2.01m (6' 7") in the high jump. 

Onto the Finals

• Cam Rose won his 400m prelim round in 49.20 seconds to advance to Saturday's final.
• Cooper Mitchell advanced to the 500m dash final on Saturday after finishing the prelim in 1:05.42.
• Jaden Enis (1:55.46) and Elijah Saddlemire (1:56.43) will both race in the Saturday 800m final after finished third and sixth.
• Matt Armstrong won the 1000m prelim in 2:33.33 for the automatic qualifier to the Saturday final.
