KINGSTON, R.I.
– Rhode Island will be the No. 10 seed and play No. 15 Fordham in the opening round of the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship, the league officially announced late Saturday night.

The game – which will be a rematch of Saturday's regular-season finale – will be played Wednesday, March 12 at 2 p.m. on USA Network. The winner will advance to play No. 7 George Washington Thursday evening at 5 p.m. That game also will air nationally on USA Network.

VCU and George Mason each grabbed a share of the regular-season title. VCU will be the No. 1 seed via league tiebreakers, followed by No. 2 George Mason, No. 3 Dayton and No. 4 Loyola Chicago. Each of the top four seeds receive a double bye and do not have to play until Friday, March 14.

Rhode Island finished the regular season tied for 10th with Massachusetts. Both teams finished 7-11 in league play, and they split two head-to-head meetings. The Rams won the tiebreaker by virtue of its 1-1 record against No. 2 George Mason, while UMass was 0-1 against the Patriots.
