KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Women's Track & Field finished third at the Holy Cross Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Rams accrued 149 points as a team behind four individual event wins and a relay victory.Â
Sydney Federico won the 400m in 55.02 seconds, besting Haley Murphy (Holy Cross) by .12 seconds in a tightly-contested race.
Lily Saul also won a track event for URI, capturing the 800m by nearly three full seconds with a time of 2:06.60.
Megan Wood (discus, 152' 4") and
Macy Daigle (high jump, 5' 6") earned top finishes in field events for Rhody.

Odette van Wyk won the 4x100m Relay in 45.84 seconds, beating second-place Holy Cross by a little over half a second.
Highlights
- Hailey LaRosa finished second in the 2000m Steeplechase with a time of 7:32.22.
- Odette van Wyk came in second in the 200m in 24.33 seconds. Sydney Federico (24.72, fourth) and Nyah Santana (25.04, sixth) joined her with scoring finishes.
- Abigail Colella, Lily Saul, Nyah Santana and Joyce London placed second in the 4x400m Relay with a time of 3:49.20.Â
- Norah Kobaly claimed second place in the javelin with a 135' 2" toss.Â
- Aibgail Colella (1:02.77) and Joyce London (1:03.10) were second and third in the 400m Hurdles.
- Megan Wood finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 181' 11'. Alyssa Yankee (165' 6", fourth) also scored.
- Wood was also third in the shotput with a mark of 47' 1 3/4".Â
- van Wyk was third in the 100m, coming across in 12.09 seconds.Â
- Lily MacDonald went 39' 1/2" in the triple jump for third overall.Â
- Sofia Piccone ran the 1500m in 4:40.83, crossing the line third.Â
- Alyssa Yankee recorded a mark of 138' 1" in the discus for fifth place.
- Gwen McCloughan ran the 5000m in 19:34.18 for sixth overall.
- Lilly Pittakas cleared 4' 10 1/4" for sixth place in the high jump.
