NEW BRITAIN, CONN. — Rhode Island finished second at the Blue Devil Invitational Friday. The Rams collected 133 points behind host Central Connecticut's 268 points.

Highlights from Competition 

• Winslow Sightler won the shot put with a mark of 15.59 meters. CJ McDermott was third, throwing 15.26 meters.
• The Rams took the top four spots in the discus, led by McDermott's first-place throw of 48.39 meters. Alex Fitzsimmons was second (47.19m), Gabe Rodrigues finished third (45.45m), and Chris Tavarone was fourth (45.17m).
• Nate Field won the hammer with a mark of 54.98m. Sam Meleshenko placed third, throwing 51.75 meters.
• Nate Shultz won the long jump after leaping 7.28 meters. 
• Cam Rose was second in the 400m in 48.69 seconds.
• Mason Pilkington finished fifth in the 100 meters (11.18s).
• Wyatt Lamell placed second in the 400m hurdles after crossing the finish line in 56.43 seconds.
• Jesse Principe was third in the 3000 meters with a 8:51.36 finish.
• Nathan Park won the pole vault (4.60m) and Alex DeStefano was fourth (4.00m).
• Russell Perryman placed third in the javelin (49.82m).
