KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's track & field team was in action across two meets on Friday, with
Megan Wood representing the team at the prestigious Penn Relays while a small contingent competed at CCSU's Blue Devil Invite.
Wood had a strong showing at Penn Relays, earning scoring finishes in each of the three events she competed in. She finished sixth in both the shotput (47' 3") and the discus (152' 6") before placing seventh overall in the hammer throw (177' 3").
As a team, the Rams finished fifth at the Blue Devil Invite. Rhody accrued 50 points behind the performances of six student-athletes.Â
Alyssa Yankee highlighted the action for URI at that meet, winning the hammer throw with a 160' 10" toss.
Highlights - Blue Devil Invite
- Madison Boucher was second in the hammer throw with a mark of 155' 9". Brooke Rubush was eighth (133') and Mae Gall was 11th (106' 11").Â
- Norah Kobaly was second in the javelin with a 117' 8" toss.Teammate Brooke Rubush came in third with a mark of 106' 4".Â
- Alyssa Yankee finished third in the shotput with a mark of 41' 11 1/4". Madison Boucher was behind her with an eighth-place finish (34' 9 3/4").Â
- Yankee was also third in the discus at 137' 4". Mae Gall recorded a mark of 128' 11" for fifth place.Â
- Kayla Clark came in 13th in the 100m Dash with a time of 13.75 seconds.
- Boucher placed ninth in the hammer throw (46.97m).Â
