KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Rowing finished up its second day of racing at the Lake Wheeler Invitational, co-hosted by UNC and Duke, on Saturday. 

The Rams' final day of action was highlighted by a pair of fifth-place finishes from the Varsity 4+ and the Varsity 8+.

In the four, Maddy Papik, Payton Klein, Costanza Proietti, Ava Hohl and coxswain Evelyn Tabor had open water on Villanova, finishing about 40 seconds ahead of the Wildcats. 

Rhody's top boat made up of Hailey Pardi, Bella Bruno, Bethany Nordstrom, Nora Lake, Abigail Galayda, Emma Barnhart, Amanda Cubit, Brigid McShea and coxswain Ellie McGee held off 'Nova by a two-second margin.
