AMHERST, MASS. — Rhode Island men's track and field made the trip to Amherst, Mass. Saturday for the New England Championship. The Rams finished second with 109.25 team points behind  UMass (119.50).

Champions

• Ryan Tona claimed first in the long jump after leaping 7.22 meters for the title.
• Mason Brubaker is a New England Outdoor Champion in the pole vault, marking 5.10 meters. 
• LJ Raye won the 100m with a time of 10.27 seconds for the gold.
• The 4x800m relay team of Jaden Enis, Maddox Jordan, Adam Melnick, and Antonio Capalbo finished first in 7:43.29.

Highlights from Competition

• The 4x100m relay finished fourth in 41.52 seconds.
• Nathan Masi was fifth in the 1000m with a time of 32:35.08.
• Alexander Baez placed third in the hammer, marking 57.09 meters.
• In the shot put, Theo Puterbaugh was fourth with a throw of 17.18 meters.
• Alex Fitzsimmons finished fifth in the discus (49.34m).
• Douglas Ledger finished sixth in the javelin, throwing 56.59 meters.
• Cam Miller placed third in the high jump, clearing 2.01 meters for a podium finish, Nate Shultz finished tied for fifth (1.96m).
• Alex Arbogast was fifth in the 100m after crossing the finish line in 10.47 seconds.
• Antonio Capalbo finished fourth in the 800m (1:53.54).
• Steven Doss was fourth in the 200m (21.52s).
• The 4x400m relay team placed third in 3:17.92.
