KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's track & field team finished in second place at the NEICAAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday.
Host UMass won the women's team trophy with 136 points, while the Rams (106.33) and Holy Cross (92) rounded out the top three.
Rhody's day was highlighted by a handful of event wins, with
Megan Wood leading the way. A week after being named the Atlantic 10 Championship's Field Performer of the Meet, she won the shotput (48' 2") and the discus (151' 4").
Lily Saul also notched an individual win, crossing the line first in the 1500m race with a time of 4:26.30.
URI's 4x100m Relay contingent of
Nyah Santana,
Sydney Federico,
Abigail Colella and
Odette van Wyk bested second-place Bryant by just .10 seconds to win the event in 46.53 seconds.

Highlights
- Megan Wood finished second in the hammer throw with a 174' 8" toss. Madison Boucher was sixth (161' 3").
- The quartet of Caroline Mellin, Erin Hurley, Kelsey Wolff and Madeline Till came in second place in the 4x800m relay at 9:12.85. The team fended off third-place Stonehill by about a second.Â
- Odette van Wyk came in second in the 200m, running the event in 24.37 seconds. Sydney Federico (24.63) was sixth.Â
- Madeline Till finished third in the 800m at 2:14.28. Â
- van Wyk crossed the line third in the 100m, finishing in 11.77 seconds.Â
- Lily MacDonald came in fourth in the triple jump at 38' 5 1/2".Â
- Nyah Santana, Lily Saul, Aibgail Colella and Federico ran the 4x400m Relay in 3:46.23, coming in third place.Â
- Macy Daigle placed fourth in the high jump at 5' 5 3/4".Â
- Sofia Piccone ran the 5000m in 17:17.66, crossing the line sixth.Â
- Katelyn Welsh cleared 12/ 6 1/4" in the pole vault for sixth overall. Olivia Priest (12' 1/2") tied for eighth.Â
- Kelsey Wolff placed seventh in the 1500m with a time of 4:39.48.
- Alyssa Yankee was eighth in the shotput with a mark of 42' 3 1/4".Â
