KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's track & field team sent student-athletes to the MIT Final Qualifier and the UMass Final Qualifier on Thursday.
Rhody had partial squads in action across New England, as the window for achieving a qualifying mark for the NCAA East Preliminary is set to close the following weekend.Â
Highlights
- Megan Wood came in second in the discus throw with a mark of 149' 6". Mae Gall (132' 6") was eighth.Â
- Katelyn Welsh finished fourth in the pole vault at the UMass Amherst Last Chance Qualifier, clearing 11' 4 1/2".Â
- Wood was fourth in the shotput with a mark of 46' 7 1/4". Alyssa Yankee (43' 2 1/4") came in eighth.Â
- Kayla Clark crossed the line fourth in the 100m hurdles at the MIT Final Qualifier (14.26 seconds).Â
- Norah Kobaly finished sixth in the javelin with a 118' 3" toss, which she recorded on her first attempt.Â
- Madison Boucher (12th, 145' 8") and Alyssa Yankee (14th, 141' 6") competed in the hammer throw at the MIT Final Qualifier.
