KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island will hold several events this weekend as part of its season-ending three-game series against Fordham.

Before Game One of Saturday's doubleheader, the team will recognize the family members of the 2025 team. The day also will be Alumni Day for the Rams, who will honor returning players between games. 

Finally, Sunday will be Senior Day. Before the first pitch of the regular-season finale, Emily Power, Noelle Sterner, Katie Zaun and team manager Tiya Naik will all be honored.

RHODE ISLAND VS. FORDHAM - SERIES NOTES

• Rhode Island and Fordham have played 59 times.
• Fordham leads the series 38-21.
• Rhode Island has a 4-2 edge over the last two seasons.
• Rhode Island hosted Stonehill in 2023, winning the first game 4-3 before Stonehill took the second game 1-0.
• While URI has been eliminated from the postseason, Fordham is in third place in the conference. 
• Fordham trails second-place Dayton by 1.5 games and it is one game ahead of George Washington.
• Fordham is one of the best offensive teams in the conference, ranking second in team batting average (.291), runs scored (227) and home runs (30) entering the weekend.
• Fordham's Neleh Nogay leads the A-10 with a .396 batting average. She has a league-high 69 hits. 

RAMS TO HONOR FOUR SENIORS SUNDAY

• Before Sunday's season finale, Rhode Island will hold its Senior Day ceremony.
• The team will honor four seniors who have all been with the team for three or more seasons.
• Being recognized will be team manager Tiya Naik, Emily Power, Noelle Sterner and Katie Zaun.
• Naik has been with the Rams for three seasons. A double major in Biological Science and Animal Science, she is an honors student who has made the Dean's List every semester. 
• She has been on the executive board of Delta Epsilon Mu, a pre-health fraternity for two years. 
• Power is a four-year starter from Farmington, New York. 
• One of the best defensive players in URI history, she ranks second in team history with 304 career assists. 
• Rhode Island's active leader in games played, she has started 167 of the 182 games she has played for URI. 
• Sterner is a Stafford, Virginia native who has been with the program for four years. 
• Throughout her time in Kingston, she has appeared in 61 games, filling a wide array of roles for the team. She first arrived as a pitcher and has appeared in 19 games in the circle. 
• This year she made the full transition to the outfield. She has been a regular in the starting lineup, starting 24 of the 31 games she has played. 
• She has 18 hits, seven runs batted in and has scored 10 runs. 
• Zaun has been with Rhode Island for the last three seasons after transferring from East Stroudsburg. 
• She has part of the starting rotation in the circle since she arrived, pitching in 86 games for the Rams. 
• She has thrown nearly 300 innings at URI, winning 16 games and ranking second with five saves. 
• Earlier this season, she became just the 12th player in URI history to reach 200 career strikeouts. 

HERNANDEZ REACHES 10 STEALS FOR THIRD STRAIGHT SEASON 

• Junior Hannah Hernandez is 10-for-11 in steal attempts on the season. 
• The Rhody centerfielder is up to 36 stolen bases for her career.
• On Thursday against Stonehill, she passed Gabby Zagami for fifth place in program history.
• Hernandez is just the third Rhode Island player to record three seasons with 10 or more steals.
• Hernandez had 15 in 2024 and 11 in 2023.
• URI's all-time leader is Anne Kelsen who had 67 career steals.
• Kelsen swiped a school-record 28 bases 1994. She also had 18 in 1990 and 12 in 1991.
• Kristen Havdoglous is second in URI history with 45 steals. She had 16 in 2003, 11 in 2002 and 10 in 2001. 
• The only other players ahead of Hernandez on the all-time list are Stefani Poedubicky (2006-09) and Kelly Coker (2010-13), both of whom finished their careers with 41 steals.
