Wood Places 33rd At East Prelims

JACKSOVILLE, Fla.
- Rhode Island senior Megan Wood had a solid showing in the discus at the 2025 NCAA Women's Track and Field East Preliminaries Saturday, placing 33rd out of 48 competitors.

Wood - who placed fourth out of 12 throwers in the second of four flights - had a distance of 47.83 meters (156 feet, 11 inches). She finished one spot behind Michigan State's Valadian Pallett (47.85m) and North Carolina's Skylar Bohlman (47.81m).

Louisville's Jayden Ulrich crushed the field with a throw of 64.81 meters, or 212 feet, seven inches. She outdistanced the rest of the field by more than 27 feet. The top 12 finishers qualified for the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Ore. starting June 11.
