KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Baseball's third baseman
Anthony DePino was named a Perfect Game Third Team All-American in an announcement put out by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
Already an All-Atlantic 10 First Team, All-Eastern College Athletic Conference and ABCA/Rawlings Northeast All-Region First Team honoree, DePino becomes the first Ram to earn Perfect Game All-American honors since Tyler Wilson (First Team) did so in 2016.Â
In his senior campaign, DePino helped the Rams capture both the Atlantic 10's regular season and conference tournament titles while boosting URI to a program-record 38 wins. By winning the Atlantic 10 Baseball Tournament, Rhode Island clinched the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship and subsequently played in the Baton Rouge Regional, hosted by No. 6 LSU.Â
The only player in Division I Baseball with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases (21-25), DePino was one of the most feared hitters in the nation in 2025. A Madison, Conn. product, he checked into the country's top 20 in numerous offensive categories including runs (second, 85), walks (ninth, 57), total bases (16th, 165), home runs (20th, 20) and on-base percentage (20th, .505).Â
As a Ram, Â DePino sits at the top of the program record book in career runs scored (201), home runs (65), runs batted in (181), total bases (475), extra-base hits (118) and walks (153), while checking into many other career and single-season top-10 categories. Â In his final season, he started all 58 games he played in at the hot corner where he fielded .924 with 105 assists.
URI was one of two Atlantic 10 teams to have a student-athlete earn Perfect Game All-American honors as George Mason's outfielder James Quinn-Irons was a Second Team selection.Â
