Final Results
DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Senior
Lily Saul placed ninth out of 275 runners to lead Rhode Island at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday morning.
Saul finished the 6000K course in a time of 21:47.84, edging Boston University's Sammy Seabury by less than two seconds. Brown's Haley Kavanagh finished one spot in front of Saul in a time of 21:44.80.
Brown's Nimrit Ahuja won the race, finishing well ahead of the field. Her time of 21:03.75 was 12 seconds ahead of BU's Abby Waddington.
Rhode Island's Alison Pankowics and
Keaney Bayha were the second and third finishers for URI. They placed 41st and 42nd, respectively. Haley LaRosa was 51st overall.
Jordan Hadfield and
Sofia Piccone were the fifth and sixth Rams to the finish line, placing 61st and 62nd.
Boston University won the team title with 35 points, followed by Brown (68), UMass Lowell (130), Connecticut College (157) and Holy Cross (179). Rhode Island finished sixth in the team standings.
The Rams are back in action Friday, Oct. 3 at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
