Lily Saul placed fourth overall to lead Rhode Island at the Shawn M. Nassaney Invitational hosted by Bryant Saturday morning.
The Rams had three top-10 individuals. In addition to Saul, freshman
Jordan Hadfield placed seventh and classmate
Keaney Bayha was ninth in the 94-runner field. Â
Rhode Island placed second in the nine-team meet. Bryant won the team title with 36 points, followed by Rhode Island (47) and Stonehill (73).
The Bryant tandem of Jasmine Trott and Chloe Whiting both finished with a time of 17:54.20 to lead the field in the 5K race. Two of the top runners in the Northeast, Trott and Whiting are both individual qualifiers for the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Saul was just 20 seconds behind them, clocking a time of 18:13.30.
Hadfield (18:51.40) and Bayha (18:54.90) posted impressive times in their collegiate debuts.
