RHODE ISLAND VS. DAYTON - SERIES NOTES
- Dayton leads the all-time series, 27-19 and has won the last two meetings.
- Â Rhode Island is looking for its first win in UD Arena since March 1, 2019, when the Rams pulled out a 72-70 victory in overtime. Â
- The Rams are looking for their third straight victory, while Dayton is looking to avoid its third straight loss.
- Dayton and Rhode Island rank first and second in steals per game in the Atlantic 10, respectively.
- The Flyers average 9.7 steals per game, while URI averages 8.8.Â
- Rhody's Tyler Cochran leads all A-10 players with 59 steals, while Dayton's De'Shayne Montgomery is second in the league with 55.
- Rhode Island is 3-2 on the road this season, while Dayton is 10-1 at home.
- Rhode Island head coach Archie Miller was the head coach at Dayton from 2011-17, compiling a record of 139-63 while leading the Flyers to four NCAA Championship appearances in six seasons.
TRIPP COMES THROUGH WITH CAREER PERFORMANCE AGAINST GEORGE MASON
- Wing Jahmere Tripp set new career highs in points (23), field goals (8), field goal attempts (15) and minutes played in Saturday's win over first-place George Mason.
- Making his third start of the season, Tripp also matched his career best with eight trips to the free throw line.
- It was the 14th time this season he scored in double figures for Rhode Island.
- In two seasons at Fordham before coming to URI, Tripp reached double digits 12 times in 61 games.
- Saturday was his first start in Atlantic 10 play. He started the final two games of non-conference play against Canisius (12/16) and Northeastern (12/22), but a knee injury forced him to miss the A-10 opener against George Mason on Jan. 3.
- Tripp is third on the team in scoring with 11.5 points per game.
RAMS SEEK THIRD STRAIGHT ROAD WIN AND THIRD STRAIGHT LEAGUE WIN
- After starting league play with three losses, Rhode Island is trying to win its third straight Atlantic 10 game and fourth in its fourth in five contests.Â
- The Rams are also trying to win their third straight road game in A-10 play, something the team has not done since winning eight conference road games in a row from March of 2019 through February of 2020.
- The Rams already are 3-2 on the road this season, matching their most road wins since going 8-5 in 2019-20.
- Tuesday will be URI's fourth game in 13 days, three of which are against top-four A-10 teams. Rhody fell to fourth-place VCU (Jan. 14), won at Richmond (Jan. 21) and beat then first-place George Mason (Jan. 24).
