2026 ITA Division I New England Women's Regional
KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island will be well represented at the 2026 ITA Division I Women's New England Regional Championship, which begins play Thursday.
Being hosted by Yale in New Haven, Conn., the New England Regional is one of 13 regional tournaments being held around the country over the next couple weeks. Seven of the regionals begin this week.
Rhode Island will have four players competing in singles, and two teams in the doubles draw.
Iben Mol is one of 48 players already in the main draw for the women's open tournament. She will be facing Fairfield's Regina Herrara on Friday.
There is a 64-player qualifying field that is competing for 16 spots in the open field. Players that win two matches in the qualifying bracket will earn their way into the women's open draw.
For Rhode Island,
Ellen Katzer,
Grace Darcy and
Kajsa Helgesen all will be in the qualifying bracket. Katzer will face Fairfield's Yana Razina, Darcy goes against Stonehill's Arya Chabria and Helgesen will battle
Kajsa Helgesen against Brown's Isabella Hu.
Rhode Island will have two teams in the doubles draw. Darcy will pair up with
Anastasia Pettersson, while Helgesen and Katzer will also be in the field. The doubles draw - which will feature 64 teams - begins play on Friday.
