RHODE ISLAND VS. ST. BONAVENTURE - SERIES NOTES

  • The Rhode Island game at St. Bonaventure was moved to Thursday, Feb. 26 due to weather issues that stranded the Rams at home.
  • Rhody and St. Bonaventure will meet for the 77th time overall and second time this season on Wednesday.
  • The Rams lead the series 44-32, including a 68-64 win in the Ryan Center last season.
  • Rhody has lost its last two visits to the Reilly Center, last winning in Olean 81-75 on Jan. 25, 2020.
  • St. Bonaventure is 21-15 when hosting the Rams.
  • Rhode Island lost its most recent game, falling 59-46 at La Salle on Saturday. 
  • St. Bonaventure has dropped three straight contests, including a 99-94 defeat at Richmond Saturday.

  • Bonnies' big mane Frank Mitchell leads the conference with 15 double-doubles, which ranks ninth in the country. Mitchell averages 16.0 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.
  • Mitchell leads the league in both total rebounds per game (9.9) and offensive rebounds per game (4.3).
  • Darryl Simmons II has made 75 3-pointers for St. Bonaventure, the second most in the league.

ITEJERE BRINGS EFFICIENCY TO OFFENSE

  • Forward Keeyan Itejere is second in the Atlantic 10 with a .675 field goal percentage.
  • Only Saint Louis big man Kellen Thames is more efficient, hitting a .678 field goal percentage.
  • Itejere has started every game this season, joining guard Myles Corey as the only Rams to do so.
  • At La Salle on Saturday, Itejere just missed his second double-double of the season, finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds.
  • For the season, he is averaging 7.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
  • Itejere also leads Rhode Island with 39 blocked shots, which ranks tied for fifth in the Atlantic 10.
  • Itejere began his career with Shaka Smart at Marquette.
  • He then spent two seasons at Northern Kentucky before transferring to Rhode Island for 2025-26.
  • He is four points shy of 700 for his career.
JOHNSON CAN DISH IT OUT
  • Point guard RJ Johnson has recorded 32 assists over the last five games, including three games with seven or more in that span.
  • He is averaging 3.5 assists per game despite coming off the bench for the first 19 games of the season.
  • Johnson is second in the Atlantic 10 with a 2.6 assist-to-turnover ratio.
  • For the season he has 92 assists and 36 turnovers.
  • Last week he matched his career best with eight assists against Saint Louis.
  • Johnson has at least five assists in five straight games. 
  • Johnson has had six or more assists six times this season.
  • Johnson needs eight more assists to reach 100 for the second straight season.
