VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. — Rhode Island men's track and field sits in first place after the day one of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship with 61 team points in five scored events. The Rams crowned two champions on the first day of competition, led by Matt Santy's meet record in the long jump and Nick Martin's 5000m crown. 

Day One Results

Prelims

• In the 60m hurdles, Lucas Andrade advanced to the Saturday finals with a qualifying time of 8.00s.
• Elias Sposato placed second in the 400m prelims with a qualifying time of 47.55s.
• Nick Morrison was third in the 500m prelim, crossing the finish line in 1:05.08.
• Alex Arbogast won the 60m prelims to qualify for final with a time of 6.83 seconds. Andrade will join him after finishing with a qualifying time of 6.97s.
• Arbogast was seventh in the 200m prelims with a qualifying time of 21.83s, while Samuel Gott was eighth with a qualifying time of 21.87s. 
• Maddox Jordan was third in the 800m prelim, qualifying with a time of 1:55.00.
• Antonio Capalbo qualified for the 1000m final with a second-place finish time of 2:28.23.

Finals

• Nick Martin won the 5000m with a time of 13:55.10.
• Matt Santy won the long jump after marking a championship-best leap of 7.57m. Joachim Ennoo placed second for the podium finish with a mark of 7.37m, while Izzy Henriques-Setho finished fourth with a 7.04 meter mark. 
• Tyler Grabinski was fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.51m. 
• Nate Field was third in the weight throw after marking 17.15m.
