NORTH HAVEN, Conn. - Qunnipiac (3-5) made quick work of Rhode Island Saturday evening, beating the Rams 4-0.

After clinching the doubles point with wins at the top two doubles spots, the Bobcats kept the momentum going in singles play. Willow Rento, Isabella Baker and Anagha Shankar won in straight sets at first, third and fourth singles to close out the match.

Rhode Island (6-4) was competitive in its other matches. At No. 2 singles, Sophie Herrman dropped the first set 6-4 but was up 4-1 in the second when play stopped. Miruna Scarlat was up 6-1, 5-3 and nearing the victory at No. 6 singles. Kajsa Helgesen led 7-5, 1-4 at No. 5 singles.

The Rams are back in action Sunday evening when they host Stonehill at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport. The match begins at 5:45 p.m.
