RHODE ISLAND VS. SAINT JOSEPH'S - SERIES NOTES
  • Rhode Island is 71-46-1 all time against Saint Joseph's. 
  • The first meeting between Rams and Hawks was in 1983 and the most recent meeting was on Saturday, May 17, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pa. 
  • The Rams took 2-of-3 against the Hawks in last year's regular season series that started on Thursday, May 15, 2025 and ended on Sunday, May 17, 2025.
  • Rhode Island opened last year's series with two wins. The Rams beat the Hawks 11-4 in game one of the series and 16-4 in game two. 
  • In last year's victory in game two of the series, Rhode Island clinched the 2025 Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship. 
  • This season, Saint Joseph's has already clinched the 2026 Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship so this weekend series will be a meeting of the last two A-10 Regular Season Champs. 
  • In last year's meeting on Saturday, May 16, Rhode Island head coach Raphael Cerrato won his 269 game as Rhode Island's skipper, surpassing Jim Foster as the winningest coach in program history.

RAMS AIM TO MAKE ATLANTIC 10 BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD

  • Rhode Island's three game series against Saint Joseph's will determine whether the Rams are in the Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship. 
  • The tournament will take place from Wednesday, May 20 through Saturday, May 23 at Capital One Park in Tysons, Va. with the top six teams in the conference standings making the field. 
  • The top seven teams in the league entering the final weekend of the regular season are as followed: No. 1 St. Joe's, No. 2 Richmond, No.3 VCU, No. 4 Davidson, No. 5 Rhode Island, No. 6 George Mason, No. 7 Fordham. 
  • Either Rhode Island, George Mason, or Fordham will be left on the outside looking in of the championship field. 
  • Before the series against St. Joe's, Rhode Island sits at No. 5 in the league standings. Both Rhode Island and George Mason are 15-12 in league play with three games remaining. Rhode Island owns the head-to-head tie breaker over the Patriots. 
  • Rhode Island could get as high as No. 2 in the league standings or as low as No. 7 and completely miss the postseason tournament. 
  • With one win against St. Joe's, Rhode Island can clinch a spot in the postseason.
