Rams Win 17th Atlantic 10 Outdoor Title

FAIRFAX, VA. — Rhode Island men's track and field won its 17th Atlantic 10 Outdoor Title Sunday. The Rams raked in 250.5 points, outscoring the competition by over 100 points for their fifth Outdoor title in six years. Matt Santy was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer while Trent Baltzell collected Coach of the Year.

Champions

  • The Rams swept the relays, starting the day by claiming gold in the 4x100m, then closing out the championship with titles in the 4x800m relay and 4x400m relay.
  • Lucas Andrade won the 110m hurdles for his first outdoor crown in 13.88 seconds.
  • Antonio Capalbo won the 800m in 1:53.68 for the title.
  • Matt Santy claimed the high jump crown after clearing 2.12m.
  • Joachim Ennoo won the triple jump with a mark of 15.70m.
  • Theo Puterbaugh placed first in the shot put with a 16.94m toss.
  • Matt Santy won the long jump on Saturday with a mark of 7.70m for his first career outdoor long jump crown.

Finals

  • Jeremy Roe earned a podium finish in the 1500m, finishing second in 4:03.82.
  • Elias Sposato was second in the 400m for a spot on the podium, crossing the finish line in 46.64 seconds.
  • In the 100m final, Cam Rose was fourth (10.71s) and Alex Arbogast was fifth (10.74s).
  • Steven Doss placed third in the 200m in 21.51 seconds for the podium finish. 
  • Cam Miller finished third in the high jump for a spot on the podium after clearing 2.06m.
  • Winslow Sightler finished fifth in the discus with a 47.58m throw.
  • Sightler was second in the shot put for the podium finish (16.65m).
  • In the decathlon, Miles Lipka placed second (7126) and John Santos was fourth (6604).
  • Izzy Henriques-Setho was fifth in the triple jump (15.08m).
