KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Baseball's Brian Connolly and Joel Collado were both named to the 2026 New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game. Rhode Island newcomers Anthony Ruggerio and Jack LaRose also will appear in the game that takes place at Goodall Park in Sanford, Maine on Sunday, July 26. 

Ruggerio will join Rhode Island in the fall after spending the last two seasons at Northeastern. LaRose, a Cumberland, R.I. native, transferred to Rhode Island after one season at Connecticut. 

Collado earned a spot in the league's South Division starting lineup as the team's DH. He sports a .246 batting average for the Mystic Schooners out of Mystic, Conn. He's appeared in 25 games for the Schooners while hitting three home runs and notching nine RBI. Collado completed his second season with Rhode Island in 2025 since transferring from Alabama State after the 2023 season. The St. Cloud, Fla. native made six starts for the Rams this season. 

Connolly, Ruggerio, and LaRose all will appear in the All-Star Game as reserves. Connolly is batting .277 for the Sanford Mainers out of the North Division. He had six extra base hits and 12 RBI in 27 games played. He has also swiped 12 bases. Connolly made 32 starts for Rhode Island this past season. He scored 24 runs for the Rams in 2025 and added 23 RBI. 

Both Ruggerio and LaRose are reserve selections for the South Division. An outfielder from Mendon, Mass., Ruggerio is a teammate of Collado's in Mystic. He's batting .277 with six home runs, 17 RBI, and 26 runs scored this summer. LaRose is playing for the Ocean State Waves in South Kingstown, R.I. He's an infielder currently hitting .307 with 13 RBI for the Waves. 

The 2026 NECBL All-Star Game will stream live on ESPN+. First pitch on Sunday evening is set for 5:10 p.m.
