RHODE ISLAND VS. MERRIMACK – SERIES NOTES

• This is the third meeting all time between Rhode Island and Merrimack.
• Rhode Island is 2-0-0 all time against Merrimack, collecting one win at home and one on the road.
• In 2019 Rhody won 2-1 in overtime thanks to Filipo Tamburini's game winning goal in the 104th minute.
• In 2021, Isak Oystese scored a brace to give the Rams a 2-1 victory in North Andover, Mass.
• This is the fourth straight road game of the season for Merrimack, having lost to Boston College, and tying Holy Cross and Stonehill all away.
• in 2025 Merrimack finished with a 4-9-3 record with a 2-6-2 record in MAAC play.
• The Warriors were picked to finish 11th in the MAAC 2026 preseason poll.

 
RHODY HONORING FIVE SENIORS ON SENIOR NIGHT

• Rhode Island plans to honor Jack Maynes, Tiago Barriguinha, Connor Froberg, Daniel Goba, and Nate Yurkovic prior to Wednesday night's game.
• Maynes, a New England native, is in his first season with URI having transferred from UNLV after spending the last two seasons there.
• Barriguinha is in his second season with the Rams and is second on the team in career points with 12, including four goals and four assists.
• Froberg has been a three year player for Rhody and has appeared in 15 matches, including appearances in all three matches this season.
• Goba is in his second season at URI, and has two goals in seven matches. Goba transferred from Salve Regina, having played two seasons with the Seahawks.
• Yurkovic is in his fourth year and is fourth on the team in career games played with 32 and has two goals and an assist in Keaney blue.

 
KRAUSE MAKING IMPACT IN FIRST SEASON

• Luca Krause has been on the field for 172 minutes so far this season, which is ninth most on the team and only started one game.
• The Rhody midfielder picked up an assist against Holy Cross and four shots across the three games this season.
• The Dresdan, Germany native is in his second year of eligibility after redshirting last season.
