RHODE ISLAND VS. CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE - SERIES NOTES

• This is the 7th meeting all time between Rhode Island and Central Connecticut State.
• Rhode Island is 2-1-3 against CCSU.
• Last season, the Rams won 4-0 over the Blue Devils in Kingston, R.I.
• Everson Goglia, Theo Harris, Austin Rocke, and Sinan Bruning all scored for the Rams in the win.
• Rhody has secured at least a draw in the last 4 meetings dating back to 2019.
• The only CCSU win in the series came on Sept. 2, 1989, a 2-0 victory in Rhode Island.
• This will be the third straight year the teams play. After two games in 1988 and 1989, the teams did not meet again for 30 years, eventually playing again on Sept. 17 2019. They also met in 2021.
• In 2025, Central Connecticut State finished with a 1-14-2 record overall and a 1-7-1 record in Northeast Conference play.
• CCSU was picked to finish eighth in the 2026 NEC Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll.
• The Blue Devils have picked up wins against Manhattan and VMI. They have suffered defeats to UMass Lowell, Binghamton, and most recently Merrimack, 1-0 on Tuesday.
• CCSU's joint leading scorer Santiago Marin Gutierrez returns after a 5-point season last year, having scored three goals and adding an assist through five games already this year.

ELLIOTT ONE AWAY FROM 150 CAREER WINS

• Head coach Gareth Elliott has won 107 matches in 14 seasons at URI, with a record of 107-89-35.
• He was 42-40-9 in five seasons at Siena, giving him a career mark of 149-129-44.
• Elliott is the third coach to reach the century mark with the Rams.
• Ed Bradley is Rhode Island's all-time leader with 192 wins over his 17-year run from 1989-2005.
• Elliott played for Bradley at URI from 1998-2001.
• Geza Henni (1969-1988) is second in program history with 175 wins.
• Elliott (2014 and 2019) and Bradley (1995, 2001) are the only URI coaches to be named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
• Elliott has been part of seven of the eight Atlantic 10 Championships in URI history.
• As the program's head coach, Elliott won conference titles in 2018 and 2019.
• As an assistant coach, he helped Rhody win league titles in 2003, 2005 and 2006.
• As a player, he led the team to A10 titles in 1999 and 2000.

 
KUEMMRITZ MAKING THE JUMP WITH RAMS

• Midfielder Liam Kuemmritz joined Rhode Island during the offseason after spending the last two seasons with Eastern Florida State at the junior college level.
• Kuemmritz picked up an assist in his first-ever appearance with the Rams against Stonehill on Aug. 20
• The Bremen, Germany native has recorded nine goals and nine assists in 32 career college matches.
• In 2025, Kuemmritz had seven goals and three assists while starting all 12 matches he played.
• He helped Eastern Florida State go 12-4-1 with a run to the second round of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I National Tournament.
• He scored in both of the team's NJCAA tournament games, netting an unassisted goal in a 3-0 victory over Murray State College before adding the Titans' lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Cowley County in the second round.
