KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island is back on the course Monday when it plays at the River Run Collegiate, hosted by fellow Atlantic 10 team Davidson.

With three rounds over two days, the 14-team field will battle the par-72 course and its TifEagle Bermuda greens. The visuals along the course include waterfalls, lake inlets, and lush hardwoods.

Rhody is making its first appearance at the tournament, which also features Dayton, East Carolina, Marshall, North Carolina A&T, Presbyterian, Radford, Mount St. Mary's, Queens University of Charlotte, Robert Morris, Towson, Youngstown State and host Davidson.

"For the second straight week we are going to a tournament which replaced a tournament we won last year," Rhode Island head coach Gregg Burke said. "It is a huge step up competitively, and the guys are excited to test themselves."

The Rams will be represented by Tony Liu, Bennett Masterson, Josiah Tong, Jack Quinn and Owen Rooney. After playing as an individual at the season-opening Doc Gimmler last week, Rooney has cracked the scoring lineup for the River Run

"Owen Rooney replaces Seb Carlsson in the lineup as we continue to find out who we are," Burke said. "This is a great opportunity for Owen to establish himself as a starter.  Tony Liu seems to be playing as he did as a freshman, and Bennett Masterson is coming into his own as we always hoped he would."
