RHODE ISLAND VS. STONY BROOK - MATCHUP NOTES

• This is the fourth meeting all time between Rhode Island and Stony Brook.
• Rhode Island is 1-1-1 all time against the Seawolves.
• Last season the teams played to a 2-2 draw in Kingston.
• Kyler Vojvodic scored both goals for the Rams.
• Prior to last season, the teams hadn't met since 2014, when the Rams got their only win in the series 4-0.
• The first game in the series was played on Sept. 13, 2013, when Stony Brook won 1-0 on Long Island.

 
SYNNESTVEDT TOWARDS TOP OF NATION IN SAVES

• The Cohasset, Mass. native currently sits T-9th in Division I for saves, and T-14th in saves per game percentage.
• Synnestvedt took over the starting job midway through last season and was 2-3-3 in eight starts, posting two shutouts.
• Half of his starts came against teams that made the Atlantic 10 Championship.
• In the season finale, Synnestvedt helped the Rams tie then-No. 22 Saint Louis 1-1.
• He finished the season with 22 saves in 720 minutes between the pipes.

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES

• In 2025, Stony Brook finished with a 9-5-5 record overall and a 4-3-1 record in CAA Play.
• The Seawolves made it to the CAA Final, where they fell to the No. 1 seed Elon 1-0.
• Stony Brook was picked to finish second in the CAA North Division in the 2026 Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll. The top three teams from both divisions make the conference tournament.
• The Seawolves have wins against Quinnipiac and Army. Their five draws are tied with Bradley for the most in NCAA Division I this season.
• Stony Brook's leading scorers are Olsen Aluc and Ryan Farr, who both have three goals this season.
• Heidar Hurmannsson has played all eight games and 720 minutes in net for the Seawolves.
