KINGSTON, R.I. - University of Rhode Island sophomore forward Lukasz Tumicz scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season, but it was Boston University coming away with a 2-1 victory this evening in men's soccer action at the URI Soccer Complex.
BU (2-4) senior forward Sedrick Chin blasted home the eventual game winner off an assist from freshman midfielder Neil Hlavaty, who collected a rebound of a saved shot by URI goalkeeper Dean Ruddy at the 86: 23 mark.
Rhode Island (2-3-1) jumped out to an early lead at 18:02 after junior forward Jeffrey Gonsalves fed Tumicz for the 1-0 lead.
The Terriers responded in the 38th minute as junior midfielder Jarryd Goldberg took a pass from Chin to even the score, 1-1, at 38:43.
The Rams will travel to New Hampshire this weekend to take on Yale, Friday (Sept. 23) at 1:30 p.m. and the host Big Green on Sunday (Sept. 25) at 2:30 p.m. in the Dartmouth Invitational.
