CINCINNATI, Ohio - Rhode Island (11-5, 2-1 A-10) junior Ryan Cunningham went four for five with a RBI and two runs scored in the Rams 7-1 victory over Xavier (7-16, 1-2 A-10) on Sunday at Hayden Field in Cincinnati.

The Rams put together an impressive forth inning scoring five runs on four hits. Rhode Island then scored one run in each of the fifth and ninth innings. The Rams had a combined 11 hits while Xavier had only four.

Junior James Norcott picked up the win giving up only two hits while striking out four in seven scoreless innings pitched. Senior Tom Venedam struck out two and only gave up one run to earn the save for URI.

Sophomore Mike O'Malley had two hits, two RBI and one run scored for the Rams.

Rhode Island hosts Northeastern on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Bill Beck Field in Kingston.
