ARLINGTON, Va. -

Rhode Island junior firstbaseman Ryan Cunningham went 2-for-5  with two RBI and a run scored in the Rams' (13-5, 3-1 A-10) 7-0 victory over George Washington (6-18, 0-4 A-10) on Friday at Barcroft Field. 

Sophomore shortstop Mike O'Malley had two RBI on one hit while teammate junior rightfielder Scott Brown had one hit, one RBI and one run scored. 

Junior Steve Holmes earned the win after pitching eight shutout innings giving up only four hits while striking out 10.  Sophomore Matthew Bruderek came on in relief for the ninth to close the game and seal the victory for the Rams.

The Rams continue their series with George Washington on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and again on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. in Arlington.
