ORONO, ME - The University of Rhode Island women's swimming & diving team suffered a very close season-opening loss at Maine by a score of 155-145, on Saturday.
FIRST-PLACE
Katie Mangano took top honors in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:01.04. Susan Nugent was the winner in the 200-yard butterfly, posting a time of 2:09.12. Sarah Keshishian took first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.96).
SECOND-PLACE
Katie Mangano, Sarah Keshishian, Chaya Zabludoff and Susan Nugent earned second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:39.27) behind Maine's winning time of 1:38.34. In the 200-yard medley relay, Katie Mangano, Rachel Revolinksi, Susan Nugent and Chaya Zabludoff posted a time of 1:51.06. Caitlin Carter finished in 10:57.09 in the 1,000-yard freestyle, nearly six seconds behind Maine's winner Shannon Bender who timed in at 10:51.45.
THIRD-PLACE
Julie Coleman earned a final score of 170.40 in the 1-meter dive, behind Maine's first and second-place winners, Kara Capossela (231.45) and Ashley Higgins (186.15). Caitlin Carter clocked in at 2:14.35 in the 200-yard backstroke. Maine's Emily Buczkowski and Shannon Bender placed first and second, respectively, timing in at 2:12.02 and 2:12.21. Taylor Gannon placed third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.19).
TOP TWO
Rachel Revolinski and Jessica Andruzzi took the top two spots in the 200-yard IM, finishing in 2:13.16 and 2:15.57, respectively. Rhody earned the top two spots in the 200-yard freestyle, with Chaya Zabludoff and Sarah Keshishian placing first and second, respectively, with Zabludoff finishing in 1:56.46 and Keshishian in 1:57.33. Sarah Keshishian and Katie Mangano took first and second, respectively, in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 53.78 and 53.79. Maine's Lauren Dwyer placed third in 54.55. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Jessica Andruzzi finished in 2:28.27 and Rachel Revolinksi in 2:29.27. And the Rams also earned the top two spots in the 500-yard freestyle, with Chaya Zabludoff finishing in 5:13.41 and Susan Nugent in 5:18.03.
SECOND AND THIRD
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Rachel Revolinski and Jessica Andruzzi earned second and third respectively, timing in at 1:08.17 and 1:09.10. And Julie Coleman and Sasha White placed second and third, respectively, in the 3-meter diving, earning 196.72 and 186.67.

Rhode Island is back in action on Nov. 5 when the Rams host Springfield College for a 1 p.m. meet.
