KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island baseball team fell to Stony Brook, 6-4, on Wednesday afternoon at Bill Beck Field. Redshirt junior Greg Annarummo went 2-for-3 in the loss, extending his hit streak to 14 games.

Stony Brook (23-9) jumped out to a 5-0 lead over the first three innings and pushed it to 6-0 in the top of the fifth on Stephen Marino's second RBI-double of the game.

The Rams (21-15) finally got on the board in the bottom of the frame when redshirt sophomore Pat Fortunato scored on a wild pitch.

Rhody went on to close the gap in the bottom of the sixth as junior Mike LeBel crossed the plate on a sac fly by senior Kenny Burns before junior Milan Adams singled through the right side to score both Annarummo and senior Tom Coulombe.

That was as close as the Rams would get though as they sent the minimum three batters to the plate in each of the next three innings.

Senior starter Brian Bodjiak was charged with the loss, giving up five runs on five hits in 2.1 innings of work. Redshirt sophomore Rob Curran was responsible for SBU's sixth run before freshman Nick Narodowy closed things out with just one hit over four scoreless innings.

Reliever G.C. Yerry picked up the win for the Seawolves as starter Frankie Vanderka gave up just one run but did not pitch the minimum five innings required to be credited with the victory. Pat Cantwell led the Stony Brook offense with a 3-for-4 day at the plate.

The Rams are back in action on Friday afternoon when they travel to Richmond to open a three-game Atlantic 10 series against the second-place Spiders.
