HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- Patrick Pelletier shot a 1-over 73 in the second round of the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championship. Saturday's round was the second of three in the 54-hole championship tournament, which is being held at the Mission Inn Resort (par 72; 6,901 yards).
Pelletier registered four birdies - two on par 3's and two more on par 4's - to go along with 10 pars on the day. After an opening round 81, Pelletier sits in a tie for 18th place with a score of 154.
John Kelly is tied for 20th place overall, one stroke behind Pelletier with a two-day score of 155. The E. Longmeadow, Mass. native shot a second round 80 after an opening round score of 75.
David Gosselin, playing in his first Atlantic 10 Championship tournament, is tied for 36th. The sophomore followed up his opening day 79 with an 81 during Saturday's round. He has a combined score of 160.
Taylor Fontaine is tied for 38th place with a score of 161. The junior carded a 77 during Friday morning's round and followed that up with an 84 during Saturday's competition - for a combined score of 161.
Andrew Fiorenzano is tied for 45th place (84-83=167), rounding out the Rhody golfers.
Rhode Island is currently in seventh place, with a two-day total of 629 (312-317). Charlotte sits atop the team leaderboard, with a score of 583 (290-293). Xavier's Herbert Day leads the field, with a 2-under score of 142 (70-72).
The third and final round of the 2011 A-10 Championship commences at 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 1.
