Complete results (day two)
BUFFALO, N.Y. – After day two of the Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championships, the Rhode Island women's swim & dive team is in sixth with 103 points. The Rams are just two points away from fifth.
Richmond, last year's winner, is currently in first with 272, followed by Fordham (217), La Salle (185), Massachusetts (177), and St. Bonaventure in fifth (105).
On Thursday, both freshman Chaya Zabludoff and junior Susan Nugent broke the team record in the 500 free. The two went into the final swim seeded fifth (4:56.93) and 10th (5:00.73), respectively, with Zabludoff finishing third and re-breaking the team record from the morning prelim swim with a time of 4:55.16. Nugent placed 14th in 5:03.90.
In the 50 free prelims, senior Katie Mangano also set a new team record by going 24.07, earning her a 15th-seed into the night finals. In her final, she also re-broke her time to finish 14th in 24.03.
Freshman Cara Brown placed 16th in the 1-meter dive, scoring 174.95 and senior Sasha White earned 21st with 146.95. Massachusetts' Michaela Butler took top honors with 260.85.
To close out the second day of A-10 competition was the 200 free relay, in which Katie Mangano, Susan Nugent, junior Eileen Morrison, and freshman Sarah Keshishian took seventh. The team finished in 1:36.89.
