BUFFALO, N.Y. – At the 2012 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championships, the women's swim & dive team broke 11 records to earn its best finish, fifth, in school history. The Rams were predicted in the preseason coach's poll to take ninth.
Defending champions Richmond won with 751 points. Following in the top five were Fordham (557), La Salle (476), and Massachusetts (434) in fourth.
The Rams started off the final night of the four-day meet with Chaya Zabludoff in the 1650. She finished seventh in 17:07.72 for a new school record.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Emily Thomesen broke her morning swim time record for 10th with a time of 2:03.79.
Katie Mangano also broke her morning swim time (51.74) in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 51.51 for fifth.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Jessica Andruzzi swam 2:25.12 for 13th and in the final individual event of the night, the 200-yard butterfly, Susan Nugent finished seventh in 2:04.70.
Going into the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, Rhode Island was tied for sixth with Xavier and was seven points behind Duquesne. The team of Katie Mangano, Sarah Keshishian, Chaya Zabludoff, and Susan Nugent finished sixth with a new school record of 3:28.35, which was just enough for the Rams to finish one point ahead of Duquesne (256) for fifth.

200 Back: Emily Thomesen 14th with new school record (2:05.46), Caitlin Carter 20th (2:07.37), Jennifer Lopez 22nd (2:10.28), and Kelsey Lynch 29th (2:17.30).
100 Free: Katie Mangano 5th with new team record (51.74), Sarah Keshishian 27th (53.40), Eileen Morrison 37th (54.60), Colette Aubin 39th (54.70), Rachel Henninger 45th (55.76), and Nina Smith (59.05).
200 Breaststroke: Jessica Andruzzi 13th (2:24.81), Rachel Revolinski 17th (2:26.23), Tamara Bystrak 28th (2:30.76), and Kaitlin McGeehan 34th (2:33.93).
200 Butterfly: Susan Nugent 8th (2:05.01), and Taylor Gannon 21st (2:09.88).
3-meter dive: Cara Brown 19th (156.55), and Sasha White 20th (150.00).
