How It Happened
Rhode Island gave up its second penalty kick of the season in the 32nd minute, allowing the Patriots to take a 1-0 advantage on a successful attempt by Alex Herrera. Rhody evened things up seven minutes later when Rainer Randell fired a shot that Mason keeper Steffen Kraus was unable to hold on to. Andy Hess was there to collect the rebound and net his first goal of the season to knot the score at 1-1. Herrera struck again though, setting up Brice Colcombe's game-winning goal with a pass into the box in the 70th minute.
