Setting the Scene

The Rhode Island Rams were defeated by the Vermont Catamounts 174-123 in Burlington on Saturday afternoon.

Event Winners

  • Bridget Whalen won the 200yd butterfly event in a time of 2:09.29. She also won the 200yd individual medley in a time of 2:10.48.
  • Chaya Zabludoff was victorious in the 100yd freestyle, swimming the race in 52.82 seconds.
  • Jessica Andruzzi's time of 2:24.89 was fast enough to win the 200yd breaststroke.

Other Rhode Island Highlights

  • The 200yd medley relay team of Hannah Homans, Rachel Revolinski, Colette Aubin, and Bridget Whalen finished second in 1:50.26.
  • Sydney Williams was second in the 1000yd freestyle event with a time of 10:49.43.
  • Sarah Keshishian finished second in the 200yd freestyle event, swimming the distance in 1:56.96.
  • Lauren Folkert placed second in the 100yd backstroke with a time of 59.84. She was second in the 200yd backstroke with a time of 2:08.83.
  • Folkert collected her third second-place finish of the meet with a 2:13.12 time in the 200yd individual medley.
  • Andruzzi, Revolinski, and Kenna Melkonian placed 2-3-4 in the 100yd breaststroke with times of 1:07.02, 1:08.44, and 1:12.24.
  • Porshe Ferrell was edged out in the 50yd freestyle, finishing second in 24.55 seconds.
  • Julie Coleman was second in the 1 meter diving event, earning a score of 216.22. Kate Middleton also placed second in the 3 meter diving event with a score of 213.29.
  • Aubin placed second in the 100yd butterfly with a time of 59.08 seconds.

Up Next

The Rams will compete in the UConn Open in Storrs next weekend before heading to Geneva, Ohio for the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championships.
