How It Happened
Rhode Island (5-5-2, 0-1-1) went up 1-0 in the 25th minute when Dante Lamb netted his team-leading fourth goal of the season off a UMass turnover.

The Minutemen (2-10-0, 1-1-0) evened things up in the 54th minute when Mark Morris scored from inside the six-yard box off a through ball from Ty Goncalves. Goncalves set Morris up again 12 minutes later, this time crossing in a ball that Morris headed over URI's Nils Leifhelm for a 2-1 lead.

Freshman Dominik Richter then tied it at two apiece in the 76th minute when he gathered a UMass clearance attempt and blasted a shot into the back of the net from outside the box.

UMass was able to seal the win late however, as a controversial foul call along the edge of the box resulted in a UMass penalty kick with just 30 seconds remaining in regulation. Leifhelm stopped Morris' attempt, but was unable to hold on to the rebound which Morris touched in to complete the hat trick as well as the 3-2 victory.
