How It Happened
Rhode Island took a 1-0 lead just 19 minutes in when Dominik Richter's shot went off the far post but Mike Casey was there to bury the rebound. It appeared as though the Rams would take the advantage into the break but A-10 Offensive Player of the Year Amass Amankona netted an equalizer with just 46 seconds remaining in the frame, sending the teams into the break tied 1-1.

Ten minutes into the second half, the Flyers were awarded a penalty kick after a handball in the box, but Amankona's attempt sailed over the crossbar to keep the score level at one apiece. Dayton then pulled ahead in the 80th minute when Kissima Bojang snuck a shot past Nils Leifhelm for the eventual 2-1 win.
