HAMDEN, Conn. -- Rhode Island's Galina Chernykh advanced to the semifinals of the A Flight singles bracket in day two of the Quinnipiac Invitational. Chernykh downed Thandy Kangwa of Seton Hall, 6-1, 6-1 on Saturday morning. She will face Honami Yazawa of Drexel in the morning flight.
Taylor Holden dropped her A singles match to Alana Prinos of Providence, 7-5, 6-7, 9-11.
In the B singles consolation bracket, Anna Peacock advanced to the semifinals after Fairfield's Kalia Nelson defaulted. Peacock dropped her next match, 8-4, to Erin Bowsher of Drexel. Elizaveta Sadovnikova lost, 8-5, to Meghan Zimmer of Fairfield. In the C consolation bracker, Jordan Rucks fell, 8-1, to Katie Kim of Seton Hall.
Play concludes at the Quinnipiac Invitational on Sunday.
