How It Happened
Boston College took a 1-0 lead just 16 minutes into the game when Mohammed Moro served up a ball, which Abe Bibas flicked to Zeiko Lewis at the opposite end of the box. Lewis then maneuvered around a Rhode Island defender and beat goalkeeper Nils Leifhelm at the near post.
The Rams nearly evened it up ten minutes later on a penalty kick, but Carlo Davids' attempt skimmed off the outside of the left post to keep the Eagles top.
Rhody eventually knotted the score in the 33rd minute when Emil Jesman Sunde lofted the ball over BC's back line to Dominik Richter, whose shot got past a diving Alex Kapp to make it a 1-1 game.
The second half was all Rhode Island with the Rams outshooting the Eagles 10-5 and attempting six corners to BC's two, but Rhody was unable to find the back of the net.
Boston College combined for seven shots in the overtime periods, but all three that were on goal were stopped by Leifhelm.
